First Moon

Our oldest friend on the planet, Curtis Roy "Not Boy" Maxwell, and his wife Linnea had come out from Phoenix to see us. We were all waiting for a table at the Sausalito Chart House in the old Valhalla building that the Grand Madam Sally Sanford put to such good use before her mayoral days. As we talked out on the deck, we couldn't believe my eyes. The moon was rising while the sun was setting and the glass buildings were reflecting the sun's last rays across the water to us. It was unbelievable. We ran to the car, grabbed the gear and shot a few rolls of film. Little did we know at the time that this would be the first of many moons that would mesmerize and enchant us, romantically linking us forever with moonchasing and the city of San Francisco.
